Tell us about yourself in 3 sentences
Hi – I'm Elisabeth. I am founder and curator of JO-HS, an artist residency, gallery and home in cdmx. I moved here about a year ago to pursue my dream of running an art and design space and turning an old house into a home and art space.

Your work and passion?
I am lucky to call my work my passion. I am very passionate about supporting emerging artists in the production, exhibition and distribution of their art. I love seeing my ideas come to life and building something out of nothing.

What is your relation to this city?
I am deeply in love with Mexico City. It is a place that invites you to seek beyond the surface – explore, taste, listen, and feel. It has been a humbling experience getting to know the city through it's artist community and the people I work with.
Best experience?
Immersing myself in the markets. Love the access to fresh fruit and vegetables all year round.

Makan, Lagunilla, and my house :)

Botanico, a drink in the bar followed by dinner.

Best Sunday spot?
Choza. Mercada Jamaica - a massive flower market

Where do you go shopping?
I don't shop in Mexico City but if I buy something its from Nin Studio, an emerging designer based here in Mexico City. If not I love the markets, local furniture design companies and contemporary ceramics.

Where is your escape place from this city?
Tepoztlan

Best 5 local advice?
1. Don't walk around after 7pm
2. Always carry a little cash for a juice or a local product
3. Visit the markets, the monuments, try all the food
